Michael K. Brown, 57, of Chesterfield County, VA passed away on December 21, 2018 at Sentara Hospice House in Virginia Beach, VA. Michael was born on June 14, 1961 in Norfolk, VA and grew up in Virginia Beach. He settled in Chesterfield County to be near his family after years of working as a cable lineman in the northeast. Michael will be remembered by his family and friends as the guy  who gave you a bear hug hello and as someone who enjoyed nature and had compassion for all living things. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Edwin Brown and step-father Joseph W. Person. He is survived by his mother Ray Ellen (Barnes) Downing, daughter Joshlin Brown and siblings Kenny Brown and wife Susan, Kimberly Brown (sister) and brothers Brian Brown, Miles Brown, Stachy Downing and eleven nieces and nephews. In lieu of a funeral service his family will be honoring Michael in a private gathering to celebrate his life. Memorials may be made to Sentara Hospice House in Virginia Beach, VA or your local SPCA.
