Today we honor a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Charles E. Duncan.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Emilee Duncan; his two daughters, Conie & Tammy and son, Charles Jr.; granddaughters—Kristy, Jordin, Katie, Amber, Paige, Emily, Tia and April; great-Grandchildren—Treigh, Armondo, Kaiden, Rah’Li, River, Richard, Bradlee, Elijah and Lucas; brother, Harry Duncan and sister, Ruth Jones.
He was very proud to be from the mountains of West Virginia, Gods country as he use to say! He was born in McDunn and was the baby of 11 children. His parents, Walter and Gussie Duncan provided a loving home, although they didn’t have much money. Growing up he was called “Charbo” by his family, a name that some family members still refer to him by to this day! He met Emilee when she was visiting her Mom and they got married when she was 16 and he was 20. Soon after they married he was stationed in Germany. Emilee choose to stay home with her family during this time. He spent 4 years there, he often told us how much he loved Germany. He would have loved to have gone back there for a visit but never found the time.
He will be missed by all.
