Jacqueline (Jacquie) Juanita Pendergraft returned to her Heavenly Father on 28 February 2019 following a courageous battle against long term illness.

The daughter of a Navy Corpsman, Jacquie moved with her family to several Naval Stations and lived in various locations throughout the U.S. As a child she spent a lot of time with her Grandparents on their farm in Arkansas. She had many fond memories of her time on the farm, going to the Saturday matinee to watch Western movies and riding down the streets of Beebe on a horse bareback. Jacquie continued her association with the U.S. Navy when she married George Pendergraft. She and George dutifully moved the family to his various duty stations at Naval Bases in the U.S. at Norfolk, Charleston SC, and Key West FL. She served as chair of the floral committee of the Officer’s Wives Club during one of these postings and was honored by her fellow wives to be elected as President of the Wives Club for a term. The highlight of her Navy experiences with the family was the two-year assignment in Taipei, Taiwan.
Jacquie worked and excelled at many varied positions during her lifetime including bank teller, real estate agent, floral clerk and framing clerk. She completed her working career as bakery and seafood clerk at her local Farm Fresh grocery store where she was a favorite with her many customers. In her spare time she taught herself to be an accomplished gourmet cook, a passion she excelled at throughout her life. Several of her recipes have become family favorites with many friends with whom she shared her culinary creations.
She enjoyed being a devout member of St Nicholas Catholic Church where she served as a lectern and Eucharistic Minister. Jacquie was an active volunteer for numerous church functions throughout the year. She was a regular in the kitchen, helped  make Thanksgiving Day Baskets and could always be counted on to organize books for the Fall Fling. She was a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi and was a proud member of the Eastern Star.
Jacquie had a wonderful zest for life and her enthusiasm was infectious. She never lost her strong connection with country living, & passed this & her love for animals down to her daughters. One of her favorite passions was reading. She was a fan of mystery novels and consumed the newspaper daily, keeping current on all local and worldwide affairs, discussing issues of the day with her daughters and many friends. With all her accomplishments throughout a wonderous and joyous life, in her own words, her proudest moments were being the mom to two beautiful daughters and being a Navy wife.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Simon and Helen Blankenship, her husband LCDR George W. Pendergraft Jr (USN Ret) and her daughter Christina Pendergraft Coleman. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Pendergraft.
