Troy Junior Shields, at the age of 58, was called to join his family in heaven on April 4, 2019. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones .

Troy was born in Florence Alabama and moved with his family to Taylor Michigan when he was 10 years old. He took great pleasure in telling the tale that he was always a Alabama fan and using the battle cry “Roll Tide.” He enjoyed fishing, boating, NASCAR, football and an occasional game of golf. He could be found on the weekend taking long drives with the love of his life, Nancy and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was very proud to have served in the United States Navy for 20 years. He was currently working for Ceres Marine Terminal as a Shop Manager.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Margaret Shields and his only brother, Johnny Shields.

Left to cherish his memory is his high school sweetheart and wife of 37 years, Nancy; his two daughters, Amanda Buscarino (Nicholas)and Vicky Shields; grandchildren, Danielle (15), Nathan Buscarino (5) and Troy Ashby (13); sisters, Carla Comley, Renia Blanton, and Alisa Schaaf (Greg) as well as several brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and life long friends.

A military service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, April 26 2019 in Albert G. Horton Jr. Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.

In Lieu of flowers a donation may be made to A Soldiers Child Foundation.

Creamation Society of Virginia-Newport News is assisting with the arrangements.
