Clark Mantelle Thomas Jr. left a message on April 21, 2022:
I hardly knew my first cousin, Martha. I was born in 1946, and she was closer to my late sister, Nancy, who was born in 1944. Both uncle Clark Sr. and his wife, Melba have passed. Nancy died of breast cancer. On the bright side, Martha's cousin and my little sister, Phoebe Amanda, who was born in 1954 is still alive. We share a house in SE Roanoke County. I guess I am still alive too, as my face still reflects in a mirror!!. My father, Clark Sr., told me that our grandfather, James Mantelle Thomas Jr., told his first son that he deeply regretted that his and Dick's father died in an explosion in 1945, and took to his grave many wonderful things he knew. That inspired me over the years to write and upload more than 160 essays and five books. You can find them at astronomy-links.net, and go to the Clark's Web Pages section. Otherwise, I wish only the best to all of Martha's surviving family. She was quite the Southern Lady, and brilliant too.

We are so sorry to learn of your Mother’s death, Mantelle. I have wonderful memories of her as a student at W&M, and most of all, as your Mom who was so very proud of you and all that you accomplished. Thinking of your family at this time.
