On Saturday July 6, 2019 Philip “Pop” Miles Bauer passed away at the age of 95.

Philip was born on January 25, 1924 to O. W. Bauer and Mabel Gauthier Bauer. After high school he was drafted into World War 2 and served in the Navy. After leaving the Navy, Philip started working in construction and became an excellent carpenter. On January 15, 1948 he married Josephine Burt. They raised two children together, Christy and Ken.

Philip had blue eyes and a smile that would catch your attention from across the room. If that wasn’t enough, he would use his wit and charm to get your attention. He loved to come up with and recite original limericks about every situation he encountered. He was also known by his family and friends for his Bauer-B-Q chicken. Philip was skilled at anything that involved his hands. He was a great painter and an exceptional carpenter. Philip even built the house that he lived in with his wife.

Philip was preceded by his mother, Mabel, father, Oscar, and wife, Josephine. He is survived by his daughter, Christy (Gene), son, Ken, grandchildren, Erin (Joe), Miles, and Emily (Valerie), four great grandchildren and many friends and neighbors who loved him.
