Virginia Beach ~ Roberta Diane Taylor Gilbert (79) of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away died Friday, July 12, 2019 after a long illness with Alzheimer’s and heart failure. She was a longtime resident of Virginia Beach and a member of Church of the Ascension.

She was born in Portland Oregon. The daughter of the late Ethel Margarite Barrott (Dias) and Robert Leonard Gilbert, both of MA.

She is joined with the love of her life Victor L. Nanof of Worcester, MA

She leaves her daughters; Deborah Madsen (Lopes) of Virginia Beach, VA and Valorie Phibbs (Lopes) of Shenandoah, VA, her step children, Bruce Nanof of Worcester, MA, Albert Lopes of Orlando FL, Carol Lopes of N. Smithfield, RI, her sisters, Josephine Reeves of Natick, MA. Ethel Dias of Auburn, MA, her brother Manual Dias of Upton, MA, her grandchildren; Jessica, Victoria, Christopher, Ashley, great-grandchildren; Kayden, Jordan, and several nieces and nephews.

She will be laid to rest in the columbarium garden at the church of the Ascension 4853 Princess Anne, Virginia Beach, Monday July 22, 2019 at 10:00am.

At her request there will be no service. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or The American Heart Association in her name are welcome and appreciated.
