Virginia Beach ~ James Douglas Farmer, 84, was born on April 21, 1935 in the small town of Coeburn, Virginia. After a long illness, he died peacefully at home with family at his side on July 18, 2019.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Sarah and Marvin Farmer. He was the third of siblings.

Jim worked at Ford Motor Company for 39 years as a cost analyst and drove a school bus for Virginia Beach public Schools when he retired. After two strokes in 2008, he became a bus assistant on a handicap bus. He loved running and working out in the gym.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa, two daughters, Marietta Marston and Laureen Bennett, two step children, six grandchildren, four siblings and many nieces. At his request, no memorial service is planned.
