Robert (Bob) Paul Thayer was born June 2, 1970 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Bob passed away October 21, 2019; he is predeceased by his father, Harold Thayer.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Karen (Fancher) Thayer, son Shawn Sims and his wife Laura of Goose Creek, SC., beloved grandson Logan Sims; mother, Patricia and her husband Jim Corrigan, sisters; Mrs. Nancy Fellers and her husband Jeff of Jamaica, VA and Mrs. Jeanne Fitzpatrick and her husband George of Lexington, SC., brothers David Smith of Laurel, MD and Kevin Thayer of Catonsville, MD., step-sister Helen Thayer-Levesque of Rockland, MA., brother-in-law Donald Fancher and his wife Rebecca of Somerset, KY., sister-in-law Amy Fancher of Venus, TX., nieces Regina, Mindy, Holly, Rebekah and Grace, nephew Jesse and his fur babies, Tango and Cash.
Bob is a US Navy Veteran Aviation Technician. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he worked for American GFM in Chesapeake, Virginia where his job and coworkers became a family to him. In his free time, Bob loved cruising on his motorcycle with friends, working on old cars, and building legos with his grandson. He was a gun enthusiast and a fan of Cosplay and Comicons. Bob was proud to have served his country while in the US Navy and his family and friends were an essential part his life.
A celebration of Life Memorial gathering will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019 in South Mills, NC, please see Celebration of Life for Bob Thayer Facebook page for details. A private burial at sea by the US Navy will take place at a later date.
