Abdul Kariam Shabazz, aka (Clayton Emanuel Spratley), 76, passed away October 19, 2019 in Windsor, VA. He was born December 25, 1942 in Newport News, VA.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Alberta Spratley Taft; his father, Warren Worsley; his son, Anthony Lorenzo Spratley; sisters, Francine Garner and Donna Johnson and brother, Warren Worsley.

Left to cherish his memories are his sister, Elder Deloris Pettaway (Apostle, David Pettaway); sister, Marcia Brown; brother, Deacon Albert L. Worsley (Karen); grandson, Lorenzo Perry; great-grandson, Quintrell Perry and a host of family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, November 15, 2019 at 7 p.m. Waldo Scott Ctr., 3100 Wickham Ave., Newport News, VA 23607.

Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News assisted the family with arrangements.

I'm Clayton's great nephew by marriage, was married to my great Aunt Marian Garner Spratley whom I never met growing up . I just want to give out my condolences to the Spratley/Worsley side of the family. I pray that God will give us the strength to get us through this hard times, knowing that Uncle Clayton was a wonderful man. He definitely helped the community as I remember. I didn't know him to well; but what I do remember is every time I saw him when my great grandfather or my mother would take me go to see him as a child at the Checks Cashed on 25th and Jefferson he would give me $5.00. So again, I give my condolences to all of the family and friends that we get through these times.
