Continue ReadingLanell D. Miles, 53 year old resident of Newport News, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 21, 2019. Born to Barbara M. Miles on February 18, 1966, she was a self-taught computer technician and tax preparer. Her hobbies included interior decorating, photography, and creating arts and crafts. She is best known for her organizational skills, her beautiful smile, and her huge heart for those she loved.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Arthur Miles Sr and Nellie Miles; her mother, Barbara M. Miles; uncle, Arthur Miles Jr.; aunt, Christine Henry, and brothers, Emanuel “Bunny” Miles and Kenneth O. Washington.
She is survived in life by two beautiful daughters, Tiketa M. Miles-Whitfield and Tinequa Miles; son-in-law, Gregory Whitfield and 6 amazing grandchildren, Marquise, Marquel, & Laneah Miles-Whitfield and Tariq, Malik, & Kyrie Miles; aunts, Dollie Williams and Jean Miles; siblings, Timothy Miles, Katrina Miles, Kimberly Jackson and Ashley Butler; sisters-in-law, Rosalyn Washington and Mary Miles; cousins, Lucille Willis and Dave Bailey; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins.
The homegoing service has not been determined. Family and close friends will be notified personally and all others will be notified via Lanell’s Facebook page.
We would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Mary Immaculate Hospital and Personal Touch Homecare aide, LaQuinta for providing her excellent care.
Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News assisted the family with arrangements.
