Reflection of Life of Tyrone Palm
Tyrone Bruce Palm of Newport News, Virginia was called home by the Lord on November 17, 2019. He was born April 24, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri to Robert and Minnie White Palm. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy.
Tyrone married Laverne Rivers Whittier Palm on January 9, 1994 and she survives.
He is survived by a brother, Robert Palm, of East St. Louis, Illinois, a sister, Irene Palm, of Greensboro, North Carolina, a sister in law, Jolanda Palm of St. Louis, MO, brother and sister in law, Ricky and Carolyn Hunt of Portageville, Missouri, sister in law Eunice Brooks of Houston, Texas, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Jacquelyn Mullins and a brother, Rodney Palm, and a brother in law, Ozell Brooks.
Tyrone was the loving father of Michael Palm of St. Louis, Missouri, Leslie Moore and husband Eric of Florissant, Missouri, Tyrone M. Palm of St. Louis, Missouri, Chellry Whittier of Newport News, Virginia, Alex Whittier IV and wife Deidre, Alexis Whittier, India Palm all of St. Louis, Missouri, Tia Palm and fiancé Stanley White of Hampton, Virginia, and Sydney Jackson of Chesapeake, Virginia.
He is survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Prior to his retirement, Tyrone was a substance abuse counselor at The Salvation Army in St. Louis, Missouri and The St. Joseph Center in East St. Louis, Illinois.
Tyrone was a devout Believer and a humble servant of God. He loved life and always enriched the lives of those around him with his quick smile and sense of humor. He was an astute observer of politics, domestic and international affairs.
Cremation was chosen per Tyrone’s wishes, and there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Final interment shall be in the mausoleum at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
