Continue ReadingBruce D. Parsons, 63, passed away on June 5, 2020 at his home with his wife and daughter by his side. He was a loving and devoted brother, husband, father, and friend. Bruce is survived by his wife, Jeanette and his daughter, Arianna.
He served 23 years in the Coast Guard retiring as a Chief Engineer in 1997. Since then he’s been a store manager at Tidewater Sewing & Vacuum and had an undying devotion to his customers. He was a wizard with small engines and he was Virginia Beach’s go-to guy for lawnmowers because he took pride in his work, dealt with people honestly and was funnier than hell. He wished he could’ve stayed longer but he said his heart was happy knowing so many would miss him when he went. His watch is over and he stands relieved.
A memorial and potluck picnic will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2020 from 12-4pm at the park behind his home, 898 Bamberg Place, Virginia Beach, 23453. Guests are encouraged to bring their masks, a chair or blanket for seating, and a dish to be served at the potluck following the memorial.

Bruce is an awesome guy that was a great friend and helped whenever he could. He always had interesting stories to say that made me laugh. He would stop in to check on me at my house when he was in the neighborhood or call to see how me and the family were doing. He has a big heart and loves to help people with mechanical or personal problems. I definitely miss not seeing him and my phone not ringing anymore. He will be missed greatly by me and my family.

I'm very sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. Bruce sold me my first vacuum cleaner when I moved into the area in 1998. He always serviced my vacuum and was an honest and talented technician who took pride in his work. Something we don't see much of these days.
