Continue ReadingRube Roosevelt Brett, 87, of Newport News, Virginia passed away June 14, 2020. Rube grew up in Bremen, Georgia. He was the youngest son of a large family. He loved family and school and would return to Georgia for reunions. He retired from NASA and was recognized for his multiple accomplishments. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Newport News and was a member of the Chambless Sunday school class.
Rube was preceded in death by his son, Ronald; his parents and 6 sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Judith; his brother, Edward; a son, Harold and daughter, Cynthia. Rube also had two step-children, Stephanie and Bart, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to Rube’s nurse, Bobbie Jo from Community Care Hospice and the Compassion Ministry from First Baptist.
Services will be held at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran’s Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia August 28th at 10 a.m.
