Eddie L. Robinson, 83, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020. He was born and raised in Florida and stayed local until he entered the U.S. Army at the age of 22. He retired from the Army in 1984 and became a truck driver for Basic Construction. Most recently, Eddie was employed as a Maintenance Supervisor for Busch Gardens in Williamsburg.
Eddie loved Missionary work and considered himself a Bible educator. He enjoyed meeting people and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Leather Robinson; two sisters and four brothers.
Left to cherish many memories are his loving wife, June; granddaughter, Alicia Ogletree, of whom lived with Eddie and June and special granddaughter, Wendy Powell; two daughters, Gloria Powell (David) and Jacqueline Hayes; two step-sons, Michael and William Ogletree; sister, Mary Kania; three sisters-in-law and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by many other family members and friends.
Eddie’s final resting place will be in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News assisted the family with arrangements.
