It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dudnauth “Cliff” Ramsawh, a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He transitioned peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from complications related to a brain injury. He was 66 years old.
Dudnauth was born in Guyana, South America on Monday, January 11, 1954. After graduating high school, he worked for the government of Guyana and also became an ordained minister, which allowed him to obtain his own church named the New Testament Church of God.
He met Geneva Brasse while attending church in their early teens and they were married on Saturday, December 18, 1976. They started their family a year later when their first child Simone was born and then Renatta two years after. They decided to relocate to the United States in 1983.
Dudnauth received his Bachelor’s in Psychology from Old Dominion University in 1987 and his Master’s in Counseling from Liberty University in the 1990s. He also received several certificates and licenses within the mental health field throughout the years. He retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Corrections as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist after 24 years.
Dudnauth enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life. He enjoyed woodworking; building a deck, fence, and shed for the family home and a playground for his grandchildren. His main passion was gardening. He definitely had a green thumb. He was very proud of the vegetables, fruits, and herbs that he grew in his backyard garden. He took pride when Geneva used these items to make delicious family meals. He also enjoyed planting flowers that would attract butterflies and hummingbirds. He also loved to spend time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Dudnauth is survived by his wife, Geneva; his two daughters, Simone and Renatta; his two grandchildren Alana and Ethan Warner; his three brothers Mahatma, Compton, and Sugrim; his sister Shelowtie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A viewing and service will be held for him at noon on Monday, August 31, 2020. He will truly be missed.
