Robert Frances Gallagher, 80, passed away on January 18th, 2021. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Robert managed his last few weeks with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his daughters, who he adored more than anything else in the world
Born in Michigan, he was the son of the late Ethel and Thomas Gallagher. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Gallagher. As well as his sisters, Joan Bloss and Margaret Hartley, and his brother, Thomas Gallagher.
Robert was a hardworking, determined man. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as a Superintendent for the Norfolk International Terminal for over 40 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, bowling, and playing golf. Robert was considered the best neighbor anyone could ask for; always willing to help those around him in need.
He is survived by his daughters, Pam Moore and Kim Gallagher Lindsay; grandchildren, Ashley Rankin, Michael Moore, Curtis Mahler, and Nicole Gallagher; great grandchildren, Skylar Moore, Camden Rankin, Greyson Moore, and Grant Rankin; as well as many nieces and nephews.
