What a nice way to start the day, seeing messages from each of you. He left this earth with a piece of my heart. Unfortunately he did not want a service, just scattering of his ashes. I do plan to host a gathering at the Bistro in Avon probably after the holidays. Let me know if any of you are interested. Love, Joni

I worked with Mike for many years. He was a good guy. Gentle soul. We had so many laughs together even while we worked our butts off in the blazing VA Beach sun. We partied together too. I hadn't seen him since '88. I tried to find him online but was unsuccessful. Now he is gone. I am bummed. Rest in Peace, Mike. I know you're riding the perfect waves now.

Mike, Lee Tugwell and I hunt out during our younger years in Norfolk, VA. Just recently Lee and I were planning to visit Hatteras and Mike once the warm weather was over, but life gets in the way and other responsibilities like my mother's broken ankle. Now Mike, it is too late to say hello after all these years and also to say goodbye. You have been the best friend to the man I have loved for all of my life and I thank you for that. You will be missed by not only Lee and I, but by many in and out of the Outerbanks. Shaka bro
