Alfred T. Gallier, born on November 23, 1939, departed this life on November 11, 2025, at the age of 85. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.
Alfred served his country with pride as a member of the National Guard, embodying the values of duty and honor throughout his life. He pursued higher education with determination, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Lynchburg College. Professionally, Alfred built a respected career as an insurance adjuster with Crawford and Company, from which he retired after many years of dedicated service.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Alfred’s greatest joy came from spending quality time with family and friends. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering support were constants in the lives of those he loved.
Alfred was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ruth Viar Overstreet, and his dear daughter, Annette R. Hurst. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Anne T. Gallier; his brother, Don Gallier, and sister-in-law, Carolyn; his son, Randy Cole, and daughter-in-law, Sandra; his daughter, Deanna L. Gallier; and a host of adoring grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.
