Allan Parnell, lovingly known as “Pepaw,” passed away on March 27, 2026, at the age of 85.
Allan was a man who wore many titles in his life, but none meant more to him than Husband, Dad, Pepaw, and Friend. He had a steady presence, a kind heart, and a quiet strength that made those around him feel safe, supported, and deeply loved.
A proud and dedicated servant to his country, Allan, also known as “Alpo,” retired as a Captain in the United States Navy. After the Navy, he continued serving our country as a defense contractor, carrying his dedication and sense of duty into the next chapter of his life. His years of service reflected his commitment, leadership, and integrity—qualities that carried through every part of his life.
Allan was widely respected for his intelligence, expertise, and depth of knowledge. He had a remarkable ability to guide and influence others, offering wisdom, mentorship, and steady leadership. Many looked to him for advice and learned from his experience, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working with or knowing him.
Beyond his accomplishments, Allan will be remembered most for the way he made people feel. Whether you knew him as Pepaw, “Alpo,” or simply Allan, you knew a man who cared deeply, loved fully, and gave generously of himself.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.
We find comfort in knowing he is now free from the burdens of dementia and at peace, reunited with his beloved wife, Glenda.
He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
