LCDR Allen Richard Page, USN (Ret) passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 84. He was born on April 4, 1941 in Maine to the late Georgia McLaughlin Fowlie and Henry Page. Also preceding him in death was his sister, Helen Page.
Allen proudly served his country as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, where he exemplified leadership and commitment. Following his distinguished military career, he continued his service to the community as a postal carrier with the United States Postal Service.
A graduate and ardent supporter of the University of Maine Orono, Allen cherished his connection to his alma mater throughout his life. His passion for service extended beyond his professional endeavors; he was a longtime member and former board member of Unity Renaissance in Chesapeake, where he contributed significantly to the community’s spiritual and social initiatives.
Allen also devoted much of his time volunteering with various organizations, always eager to lend a helping hand. He served as past president of the Pioneers Kiwanis Club. Additionally, he found joy and fulfillment as a counselor with the Appalachian Trail Club, sharing his love for nature and the great outdoors with others. He was also a longtime member of the Sounds of Joy Chorus.
Left to cherish his memory are his husband, Gary Thornburg; his son, Christopher Page; his siblings: Cindy Wruck (Karl-Heinz), Henry Page II, Daniel Page, Gerry Page (Charlotte), Lois Cole (Rich), James Burns (Marilyn), and William Fowlie (Maria), who will all cherish his memory.
