Alvin Whalley passed away November 9, 2021 surrounded by his children.
He was born August 2,1935 in Cheektowaga, NY. He was a 20-year veteran of the US Army and retired Civil Service. He loved his family and the Buffalo Bills. He was very witty and had a great sense of humor. TV was a big part of his life, along with his cats. He was a great community helper, he umpired for the Plaza Little League for many years.
Whalley is survived by four children, Peggy Whalley of Virginia Beach, Sonja (CW) Meixel of Canton GA, Jimmy Whalley of Chesapeake, VA and Tommy (Bunny) Whalley Chesapeake, VA. He had seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Moe Whalley and Kenny Whalley.
There will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Virginia Beach SPCA or the Salvation Army.
Cremation services are being provided by Cremation Society of Virginia – Virginia Beach.
