Andreas (Andrew) Roehrle, age 61, passed away in March of 2026 in Williamsburg, Virginia. He was born in Memmingen, Germany to Josef and Waltraud Roehrle on April 21, 1964. The family moved to the United States in 1972. Andrew was proud to become a United States Citizen in 1995. Growing up, Andrew was a member of the Boy Scouts of America (Troop 84) earning the rank of Eagle Scout on April 4th, 1982. Following High School, Andrew joined the United States Air Force where he spent four years in active service and two years in the reserves. During this time, he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant and received the Sustained Superior Performance as Recognized by the Inspector General Certificate. After his honorable discharge in 1988, Andrew graduated from Christoper Newport College (now University) and moved to Virginia Beach. While living in Virginia Beach, Andrew met and married his wife. The couple settled in Williamsburg VA in 2000 where Andrew worked for Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center for 20 plus years until his retirement in 2025.
Andrew enjoyed early morning coffee runs to Starbucks while listening to “Car Talk” or “Listening to America”. He was creative and liked to work with his hands which he expressed through cooking new recipes for his family and building furniture. Andrew was an avid reader and enjoyed reading works by Clay Jenkinson, Tom Clancy, and Brad Thor. He could be found fishing/ boating on the James River during the day and walking the Greenspring Trail in the evening. He looked forward to starting his garden each spring where he grew a variety of plants. Andrew was passionate about history and loved taking his kids to Monticello to tour Thomas Jefferson’s home and gardens.
He was a gentle, generous, and kind man. Growing up, he would constantly bring home stray dogs to care for. He loved making his children laugh and could always impress people with his SpongeBob Square Pants impressions.
Andrew was proceeded in death by his mother, Waltraud Roehrle.
Andrew is survived by his father, Josef Roehrle, his siblings Petra and Marc Roehrle, his children, Kylie, Carter Catherine, and Ethan Roehrle, and his grandpets Basil and Roo.
