Andrew Anthony Makovsky, born on February 3, 1960, in Stamford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 65.
Andrew was a dedicated business owner in the field of automotive compliance, where he applied his expertise and passion for many years. Beyond his professional life, he was a man of diverse interests and pursuits. He found joy and freedom in riding motorcycles, exploring the depths through scuba diving, and honing his skills in shooting sports. His love for the environment was evident in his participation in beach clean-ups, and his compassion extended to all creatures great and small, as he was a devoted animal lover.
A man of faith, Andrew was a member of the Ironhorse Fellowship, where he found community and spiritual fulfillment.
Andrew is preceded in death by his father, Andrew Anthony Makovsky. He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his mother, Gladys Makovsky; his brothers, Glenn Makovsky and Steven Makovsky; his sister, Debra Tetrault; his children, Sarah Makovsky, James Makovsky, and Jack Makovsky; and his grandson, Carter Makovsky. He will also be dearly missed by his cousin and friend, Craig Wheeler, along with many other friends and acquaintances whose lives he touched.
In keeping with Andrew’s wishes, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to an animal shelter of your choice, honoring Andrew’s enduring love for animals.
Andrew will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his dedication to his work, and his unwavering love for his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
