A Colorado native, she passed away on February 28th at the age of 82, surrounded by the love of her son and daughter-in-law.
Born July 5th, 1940, Anna brought joy and a sense of adventure into the world as the second child of Leroy & Lorraine (Clark) Robinson. Anna grew up in the metro area attending Cole Jr, High and was a proud Manual Thunder Bolt.
After graduating from high school, Anna’s drive of adventure led her to stops in Connecticut, San Francisco, and Jamaica before returning to settle in Denver. Shortly after returning home, she welcomed her only son, Mangai Oliver Yee, into the world and became a lifelong devoted mother.
A consummate fixture in the community, she volunteered by giving back to the community that helped shape her including The Church of the Holy Redeemer, Warren Village, National Council of Negro Women, Bonfils Memorial Theater, and Parent Teacher Association.
In retirement her drive for self-enrichment and adventure continued as she completed her college degree, vacationed by cruise liner, and worked as a customer associate at Neiman Marcus.
Anna was a fiercely dedicated mom, granny, and aunt who believed family came first while instilling those values in those who knew her.
She is predeceased in death by her mother Lorraine, father Leroy, and brother Leroy Robinson. She is survived by her son, daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, and loving family. Her absence leaves a hole impossible to fill.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at The Church of the Holy Redeemer 2552 N Williams St in Denver on Friday, April 28th at 1100 am.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Anna’s name to Warren Village of Denver. https://warrenvillage.org/donate/
