Babbi Jean Dickson, born on July 15, 1961, in Oneida, New York, passed away on August 27, 2025, in Hampton, Virginia, at the age of 64. Her life was a testament to love, dedication, and service, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
For over 30 years, Babbi devoted herself to nurturing young minds as an in-home day care provider, a calling that brought her immense joy and fulfillment. Her love for children was evident in every interaction, and she was cherished by the many families whose lives she touched.
Babbi was an active member of Grace Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia, where her vibrant spirit shone brightly. Whether she was planting pansies out front, helping with vacation Bible school skits and plays, or decorating for church events, her contributions were always made with love and enthusiasm. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.
Beyond her work and church activities, Babbi loved spending time with her family. She found joy in bowling, camping, and creating cherished memories with her loved ones. Her warmth and kindness extended to all who knew her, making her a beloved friend and confidante.
Preceded in death by Grandma Melon, Grandma Vienneau, stepmother Beverly (Bubbles) Burton, and sister-in-law Shari Dickson Jones, Babbi’s legacy of love continues through her surviving family. She leaves behind her devoted husband Scott Dickson; parents Harry Burton and Cheryl Lichtenberger; stepfather Dean Lichtenberger; son Evan Dickson and daughter-in-law Beth Dickson; granddaughter Scarlett Dickson; sisters Barb Cordary, Brenda Cornelius, Danielle Scribner, Chastity Kaczor, Penny Lichtenberger and Rhonda Lichtenberger; brothers Dean Lichtenburger Jr and Jay Lichtenberger.; sister-in-law Wendy Dickson; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services to celebrate Babbi’s life will be held on Saturday, September 6th, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church in Hampton. Family and friends are welcome to gather in remembrance of a remarkable woman whose legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. In lieu of flowers the family would love for donations to the Grace Baptist Church in Hampton.
Babbi Jean Dickson will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to family, faith, and community. Her loving spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May her soul rest in peace.
