Betty Jane Broadway, age 91 of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2018. She was the wife of the late Lonnie Broadway and the daughter of the late Kathleen M. and William O’Brien.

She was born in Detroit, Mich, on March 14, 1927.

She is survived by her son, David Roberts of Jacksonville, FL., and her two daughters, Gail Halstead of Ruffin, NC., and Patricia Brown of Altoona, PA.. She is predeceased by her daughter, Colleen Plaugher. She is survived by two sisters, Eileen O’Brien of Del Haven, N.J., and Sandra McCracken of Seven Valleys, PA., and one brother, Patrick O’Brien of Fair Play, S.C. . She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.

Family and animals were Betty’s passion and delight. She loved spending time with her siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was loved by all animals and she loved them back just as much, from birds flying into her house and eating from her hand, to animals standing at her back door to be fed.   She was an avid supporter of the SPCA.

Private services will be provided by the Cremation Society of Virginia.
