Cheryl Cannon Hummer left a message on October 18, 2018:
Bob and my dad Edward Cannon were friends for many years through my aunt Peggy Cannon Donlan and Bob's former wife Grace who was Aunt Peggy's best friend since childhood. I lost touch with Bob after he and Grave divorced. This always made my Dad very sad because he admired Bob very much. Just 2 weeks ago, I was visiting my husband's cousin Jean Lindsey at Province Place and ran into Bob at the Sunday afternoon tea, unexpectedly. It was a nice surprise, particularly since I lost my Dad to a sudden stroke in March and still miss him so much. Bob's grandson Jeff Barnard went to Kempsville High School with my son Andrew Hummer. Jeff is a couple of years older but was a great mentor to Andrew-they were both very talented percussionists. Just another tie between our families. Please accept my sincere condolences. Bob told me when we recently re-connected that he liked Earl Gray tea and I was going to bring him some this week when we visit Jean. It is sitting on my kitchen counter. He also told me he had had a stroke, too. God Bless y9ur family and know that I always thought he was a very fine (and very handome) gentleman. Right now, I am sure he and Dad are talking about the different things they used to enjoy doing.
