Carol Ann Harper, affectionately known as CHarli, passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 78. Born on May 15, 1947, in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada, CHarli lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and cherished memories.
CHarli was a woman of many talents and passions. Her career as a commercial pilot was a testament to her adventurous spirit and determination. She was a true artist at heart, expressing herself through photography, graphic design, and poetry. Her artistic endeavors captured the beauty she saw in the world and touched the lives of those around her.
A devoted collector, CHarli had a particular fondness for antiques, with a special interest in Mah Jong. Her home was a reflection of her eclectic tastes and her appreciation for history and craftsmanship.
CHarli possessed a deep love for all animals big and small. Her kindness extended to all creatures, reflected in the care she gave her many pets from cats and dogs to the squirrels she loved to feed in her garden. She also enjoyed collecting tropical and salt water fish and once ran a hobby farm of purebred goats.
CHarli leaves behind Bob, her soulmate; her children: Sean Harper (Jody), Stacey Garcia (Robby), and Scott Harper; her three grandchildren: Markus, Zane, and Rylan; and many extended relatives and close friends who will miss her dearly.
CHarli’s warmth, generosity, creativity, and love for life will be remembered by all who knew her. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
