It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Carol Jean Hackett, who was born on June 3, 1954, in Norfolk, Virginia, and departed this life on September 17, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 71.

Carol lived a vibrant and spirited life, embracing each day with a zest that inspired all who knew her. As a dedicated hairstylist, she spent years transforming not just appearances but also the spirits of those who sat in her chair, always leaving them with a smile and a boost of confidence. Her genuine warmth and creativity touched everyone she met.

Beyond her professional life, Carol thrived on spending time with her cherished family and friends. Her home was a place filled with love, and laughter.  Carol’s passion for living on the wild side was evident in the joy she found in activities such as bowling and bingo—always ready for an adventure or a friendly competition.

Carol’s legacy lives on through her beloved children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Stacey (Jason) Truitt, Kelly Battle, and Frederick (Sophia) B. Hackett, and her adored grandchildren: Taylor Battle, Emily Truitt, Andrew Truitt, Lily Woods-Hackett, and Ivy Woods-Hacket; her sister and best friend, Cheryl Treacy. They will forever remember her infectious laughter, her unwavering support, and the unconditional love she bestowed upon them.

Private services will be held to honor Carol’s life. During this difficult time, the family kindly invites you to share your fondest condolences and memories, which are deeply appreciated as they navigate this profound loss.
