Carolyn Sears, 78, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 in Chesapeake, Virginia surrounded by loved ones. Carolyn was born July 22, 1943 to Lawrence and Virginia Sears, in Columbus, Ohio. She attended Ohio State University.
Carolyn relocated to Virginia and shortly began her career as a draftsman with VEPCO (Dominion Energy) and retired from VNG (Virginia Natural Gas) after 36 years of service. Upon retirement, she graciously embraced her role as “CiCi” to Taylor and Campbell Wilson. When time allowed, she displayed her incredible creativity and talent in various mediums including stained glass, sculpture, and painting.
In addition to being predeceased by her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her sister, Alberta, and brother, John, both of Columbus, Ohio. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Bonnie Weiser, of Melbourne, Florida; dear friend, Karen Wilson, and Karen‘s daughters, Taylor and Campbell Wilson; and close friend, Judy Cannon. She will be greatly missed by her four-legged buddy, Winston. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and loving friends. The family would like to thank Mike, with Traditions Health Care, for his kindness and compassion during Carolyn’s courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
