A long-term resident of Newport News, Virginia, Carolyn Caylor, 78, died at home peacefully surrounded by family. She was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and was a member of the 1966 graduating class of Oak Ridge High School.
Carolyn and her husband were avid bowlers for many years. She previously served as the Women’s Bowling League Secretary for the AMF Denbigh Lanes in Newport News. She was inducted into the Hampton Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1996 for her incredible service.
Carolyn was endlessly willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her door was always open and she would have a seat for anyone at her table. She loved animals and her culinary skills were legendary.
In addition to her parents Ernest Lawson and Minnie Crawford Lawson, Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved sons, James, Steven and Michael Caylor, and her brother Ernie Wayne Lawson.
Carolyn is survived by her darling husband of 61 years, Clyde Thomas Caylor, cherished daughter and caretaker Christina Eastham (Randy), foster sons Rodney and Richard Baker, and three grandchildren: Sarah Caylor, Kaylee Eastham and Silas Eastham.
She is additionally survived by her three siblings; Patricia Terry (Ralph), Victoria Lawson and Randall Lawson.

The Cremation Society of Virginia will be providing services for Carolyn and the Caylor family. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
