Charles Alexander of Virginia Beach, lovingly known to many as Master Chief, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 30, 2025. A proud veteran, devoted husband, father, brother, Pawpaw, and Great Pawpaw, Charles lived a life filled with love, laughter, and loyalty.
He is survived by his daughters: Kim Stratton, Donna Shook, and Christinia Simpson; his brothers and sisters: John Alexander, Alan Alexander, Ginger Eskew, and Maggie Dziuk; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife and love of his life, Cheryl Alexander, who passed away just six months ago. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them. He was also predeceased by his son, Matthew Alexander.
Known for his quick wit and endless supply of one-liners, Charles could light up any room with his humor. He had a joke for every occasion and a heart big enough to make everyone feel special. His laughter and warmth will be deeply missed, but the joy he brought to others will live on in the stories and smiles he leaves behind.
Charles Alexander’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and service – a true reflection of a life well lived.
