Joe (Charles) Beasley passed away unexpectedly in his home on 12/25/25, in Shacklefords, VA.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Eva; siblings: Kenneth, Fred, David, Mable, Jean, and Phyllis; and daughter in law, Sue.

He is survived by his daughters Cathy (Scott) and Dana (Tarelle), and son Mike; grandchildren: Camille, Riley, Lexi, Kyleigh, Nicolas, and Rebecca; great grandchildren: Lyla, Ella, Kayla, Alyssa, and Bella; and his sister, Barbara.

Family was his priority and he loved them fiercely. He was always present and purposeful, never taking quality time for granted. He created a place of refuge and peace and being with him just felt like “home”.  He was an amazing husband, dad, and papa – who was caught a time or two giving the grandkids ice cream for breakfast.

He loved being on the water, whether boating, fishing, or looking out over the dock while enjoying a beer or a cup of coffee and some quiet time. He loved ending his days listening to music (mostly country). He loved a good joke, good food, a good movie, and watching his sports in peace.

He spent his career building homes, but was most proud of his volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity. There wasn’t much that he couldn’t fix with his own invention using duct tape, a nail gun, or Alien tape!

He loved his country and proudly flew an American flag from his porch. He could often be seen driving his pickup truck with 6 ft American Flags flying from the tailgate.

He spent the last 2 years being the primary care giver for the love of his life as she battled Alzheimer’s. He was a man that loved with actions, and there truly wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his family. He was our rock and our hero.

The family would like to send special thanks to his neighbors, Pete and Barb, who were considered a part of the family.

In lieu of flowers, please do something kind for someone else and pay it forward. That’s what he would want.
