Charles Edward Hunt, born on October 9, 1949, in the rolling hills of Kentucky, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, in Newport News, VA, at the age of 76.
Charles was a man whose life was a testament to hard work, joy, and the simple pleasures that bring people together. A proud graduate of Kecoughtan High School’s Class of 1970, he spent his life on the road as a dedicated truck driver. His commitment to his work was matched only by his love for his family and the many moments shared with them.
He found joy in the rhythms of country music, a soundtrack to his life that echoed his own down-to-earth spirit. Charles took pleasure in the simple task of cutting the grass, finding peace in the hum of the mower and the sight of a neatly trimmed lawn. Behind the wheel, whether in his truck or car, he found freedom and solace on the open road.
Charles’ heart was always full when he was surrounded by family and friends, sharing laughter and stories, dancing to his favorite tunes, or engaging in a friendly game of horseshoes. His ability to bring people together with his humor and warmth was one of his greatest gifts.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Lassie Hunt, Charles leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his cherished wife, Judy Hunt, and their son, Ricky Hunt. Their lives are a testament to the enduring bonds of family and the strength found in shared memories.
Though he has left this world, Charles’ spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, reminding us all to find joy in everyday moments and to cherish the time spent with loved ones.
