Charles F. Lincoln, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, in Newport News, Virginia, at the age of 91. Born on July 20, 1934, in Westerly, Rhode Island, Charles lived a life marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and a love for the simple joys of life.
Charles proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. His commitment to his country was a testament to his character and strength.
After retiring, Charles enjoyed spending his days playing golf, bowling, and fishing. He cherished time spent with his family, whether it was celebrating birthdays or enjoying boat rides. Above all, he loved being at home with his devoted wife, Anna Marie Atkins.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick C. Lincoln and Mary K. Lincoln, and his brothers, Peter, David, and John Lincoln. He also mourned the loss of his granddaughter, Heather Ann Casey Bigbie.
He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Marie Atkins; his children, Wendy Lincoln of Newport News, VA, Brian Lincoln and his wife Juanita of Williamsburg, VA, Michael and his wife Nancy of Hampton, VA, Laurie Wilson and her husband Michael of Cromwell, IN, and Lisa Walski and her partner Henderson Reeves of Newport News, VA, and dog, Ginger. Charles was a proud grandfather to Rick, Preston, Tyler, Chase, and Casey, and a great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind four step-sons, six step-grandchildren, and nine step-great-grandchildren.
A service to honor Charles’s life will be held on April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery, located at 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA.
Charles F. Lincoln will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his service to his country, and the warmth and joy he brought into the lives of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all.
