Christina Lynn Fortune, born on May 18, 1978, in Newport News, Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026 at the age of 47.
Christina dedicated her professional life to serving her community as a Master Deputy for the Commissioner of Revenue in Hampton, Virginia. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her love for her family and her many passions.
A woman of diverse interests, Christina found joy in crafting and exploring the great outdoors. She was an avid member of the Middle Peninsula Jeep Association, where she shared her enthusiasm for Jeeping and adventures in the mountains with like-minded friends. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Christina pursued her education with dedication, earning an Associate’s Degree that laid the foundation for her successful career. Her life was enriched by her close-knit family and the many friendships she cultivated over the years.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Shirley Elder; her brother, Steven Price; and her aunt, Susan Elder. Christina leaves behind a loving family, including Kenny Fortune; her mother, Laurie Rodgers, children, Nate Fortune (Caysee), Alex Fortune (Thora), and Jacob Fortune; and her cherished grandchildren, Kinslee, Austyn, Caydon, and Malachi. She is also survived by her brother, John Rodgers (Jenny), along with her faithful dog, Sadie. Christina’s memory will be carried on by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family who loved her dearly.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services held. Christina’s family and friends will honor her memory in their hearts and through the stories they share of a life well-lived.
