Claire A. Moscone, 90, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024. She was born on January 27, 1934 in Massachusetts to the late Gianinna and Salvator Marini. Also preceding her in death was her son, Michael Moscone.
She is survived by her children: Theresa Sparks (Dave), Michele Moscone (Paul), Christina Moscone, and David Moscone; grandchildren: Ryan (Katie), Rachel (Josh), Halley, and Gianna (Cole); great-grandchildren: Luke, Seth, Asher, Saylor, and Roma; brother, Frank Marini (Ellen); and many extended relatives and friends.
Claire graduated from Massasoit Community College as a RN, and went on to Old Dominion University earning her BS in nursing. She worked for many years in her chosen profession in several Boston hospitals.
Claire was a devoted mother to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. She loved to spend her time listening to them share their life over a cup of tea and offering pearls of wisdom and encouragement.
She enjoyed studying cake decorating and loved to bake the most delicious and beautiful cakes for her family, even expanding out to making wedding cakes for brides. You could taste the love in every bite.
Her love of gardening and exquisite taste and style in floral arranging was admired by many. She shared that gift with her community at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Every Sunday the altar was decorated with stunning arrangements and holidays were a site to see. Claire shared her love of flowers with joy and established Saint Gregory’s beautiful gardens for Our Lady of Guadalupe. She could be found most often in the gardens tending to them. She was lovingly known as the “Flower Lady”.
She was most at home at her beloved Saint Gregory’s where she served as the first woman Head Sacristan. She also worked with Saint Gregory’s to purchase a home and open the first AIDs Hospice Home in our area utilizing her nursing degree and humanitarian heart she shared with the church. Claire loved being a Benedictine Oblate, and saying the Rosary.
Claire’s family miss her dearly but take comfort in knowing her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
