Suffolk, VA – Clark Jack Newcomer, Jr., aged 80, passed away at his home on September 12, 2025, in Suffolk, Virginia. Born on June 25, 1945, in Charleston, West Virginia, Clark lived a life marked by dedication and service.
Clark proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retiring after 22 years of honorable service with the rank of GS14. Following his distinguished naval career, he transitioned into the commercial sector, working as a Fleet & Commercial Manager for a local trucking company.
His naval career was a source of great pride and fulfillment, shaping much of his life’s journey. Clark’s commitment to duty and his steadfast nature were evident in all aspects of his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Clark Jack Newcomer and Ruby Elizabeth Lanire Newcomer, as well as his cherished daughter, Michele Lea Newcomer; and brother, Terry Paul Newcomer.
Clark is survived by his devoted wife, Jackalyn Lee Newcomer, who stood by his side for many years, sharing in both joys and challenges and his loving brother, Robert L. Newcomer of Alum Creek, WV.
A service with military honors will be conducted at Albert G. Horton., Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia at a later date. The Cremation Society of Virginia, Chesapeake Office, is assisting the family during this difficult time.
