Cliff passed away peacefully at home in his favorite recliner, next to his loving wife Margie Poole, on October 9, 2025. He was 86 years old.
Cliff was born in South Boston, VA, and was a Hampton resident for most of his life. He worked as a pipe fitter for both Newport News Shipyard and Fluor Daniels Construction Company, retiring in 2007.
Cliff was an avid sports fan of both the Yankees baseball and Commander’s football teams. He was a long-standing member of the Newport News Moose Lodge 1119 where he met Margie in 1983. An avid fisherman, he boated and fished the area waters until he was not able to do so. Cliff was proud of the citation he was awarded for catching a record setting Cobia. His other past times included watching westerns, attending events at the Hampton Moose Lodge, and spending time with his family.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Laura Millhouser Poole; his two brothers, Ellis Poole and George Poole; and a son, Cliff Poole, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Margie Poole; children Effie Nicosia (Nick), Myra Hill (Bobby), Edmund Forrest, and Rendell Forrest; seven grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and one nephew.
Cliff will be fondly remembered for his unselfish love of his extended family, never failing to say I love you when we parted ways. He will forever be missed by all who knew this kind, loyal, and generous man.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Moose Family Center, 2307 60th Street, Hampton, VA 23661. For additional information contact Myra Hill at hillm2005@aol.com
