Firefighter Daniel H. Johnson, 60, passed away at home January 7, 2022

Born January 12, 1961 in Galveston, TX, he was a son of the late Joseph and Etta Johnson. Hired September 3, 1985, he served the citizens of the City of Norfolk for over 32 years, retiring February 1, 2018.  Liked by all with whom he spent time, Danny was a skilled professional who was a great stationmate.  Fun loving and easy going, he spent many on and off-duty hours in the company of his fire service brothers and sisters.  Although a private person himself, he would step up to help anyone he found in need.  His passing is certainly a loss to the fire service community.

Danny is survived by his sister, Nancy Miller; brother, Joe Johnson; niece, Erica Miller and nephew, Joseph Mark Johnson (currently serving in the U.S. Navy in Louisiana.)

A celebration of Danny’s life will be held 2pm Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Training Center, 7120 Granby Street, Norfolk.  Condolences may also be sent to the family in care of Erica Miller, 316 Etheredge St., Bushnell, FL 33513.  Please keep Danny’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
