David Bazemore, born on July 21, 1947, in North Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, in Hampton, VA, at the age of 78. He was a cherished member of his community and a beloved friend to many.
David dedicated much of his life to serving others, both in his professional and personal endeavors. He worked diligently as a Clerk for the Newport News Sheriff’s Office, where he was respected for his commitment and integrity. His sense of duty extended beyond his civilian career, as he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Korean Service Medal, reflecting his dedication and valor.
For over two decades, David was a devoted elder at Harvest Ministries, where he shared his wisdom and faith with the congregation. He was passionate about his spiritual journey, spending countless hours reading and studying the Bible deeply. His love for music was evident in his joy of singing, which brought happiness to those around him.
In his leisure time, David enjoyed playing computer games, a hobby that kept his mind sharp and entertained. He had an affinity for old westerns and classic television shows, often sharing fond memories and laughter through his favorite pastimes. Known for his quick wit, David delighted in telling jokes, bringing smiles to the faces of friends and family alike.
David was preceded in death by his loving parents, Roy and Ruth Bazemore; his brothers, Robert, Tim, and Michael Bazemore; and his sister, Ruth Bazemore. Though they mourn his passing, those who knew him celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy of kindness, humor, and steadfast faith.
A memorial service to honor David’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on February 28, 2026, at Harvest Ministries, located at 208 Hampton Hwy, Yorktown, VA.
