Dina Major Garber, born on May 23, 1940, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, in Newport News, Virginia, at the age of 85.
Dina was a devoted mother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. She spent much of her professional life as a fashion buyer, where her keen eye for style and her passion for fashion were evident to all who knew her. Her love for fashion was not just a career but a lifelong passion that brought her joy and fulfillment.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Dina cherished the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time at the beach, where the sound of the waves and the feel of the sand beneath her feet brought her peace and happiness. Above all, she treasured the moments spent with her family and friends, especially her beloved son, Jeff, and her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Dina was preceded in death by her husband, Jim J. Garber, and her parents, Fred and Sadie Major. She is survived by her loving son, Jeff Linsk, her brother, Wayne Major, her sister, Lana Major, and many dear friends who will miss her greatly.
A private service will be held for the family at a later date in Canada, where Dina’s life will be celebrated and remembered by those who loved her most.
Dina’s legacy of love, laughter, and elegance will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
