Donald Foster Eagan was born on April 30, 1932 in Louisville, Kentucky and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He went to sleep in death on October 23, 2018 after struggling with Alzheimer’s Disease for several years.
He was an only child born to the late Wilburn and Thelma Eagan and was the beloved husband of Lyna Eagan for 59 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lyna; his son Lance and his wife, Linda; and his son Shawn and his wife, Amy. He also has four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Don served in the US military for 20 years. After he was discharged, he studied the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and dedicated his life to Jehovah and symbolized that by water baptism in the summer of 1970. He was a faithful servant of Jehovah until his death.
“Don”, as he was affectionately known, was always a “gentle soul” who loved his family and his God, Jehovah, very much. He always endeavored to make others happy and his goal was to never hurt anyone in anyway.
Don touched the lives of so many with his trademark smile and his cheerful attitude. He will be sorely missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 345 Grissom Way, Newport News, VA 23608.
