We remember Don Gordon, a beloved radio announcer whose voice became a familiar companion across airwaves from the Niagara region to California and Hawaii. A cherished part of the broadcasting community, Don brought warmth, personality, and passion to every show he hosted. In the Niagara area he was known for his work on stations including CHRE FM 105.7, where his connection with listeners helped shape the soundtrack of daily life for many in the region.
His career took him beyond Niagara, sharing his talent with audiences in vibrant radio markets in California and Hawaii, where his warmth and professionalism touched countless listeners and fellow broadcasters alike. In Hawaii, he became a familiar voice on public radio, celebrating music and community — continuing a lifelong commitment to sharing great stories and great sound.
Don is preceded in death by his loving parents, Edwin and Joetta Gordon, and his brother, Harry Gordon. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of his surviving family: his devoted wife, Maureen Gordon; sister, Audry Nevison; brothers, Roger and Lee Gordon; daughter, Julia; stepdaughters, Vicky and Tanya; and all of his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
For nearly forty years, Don shared life’s ups and downs with his partner Maureen— a journey filled with love, resilience, and unwavering support. Surrounded by family, friends, and devoted listeners, he lived a life that resonated far beyond the frequencies he mastered. Though his voice now rests, his legacy lives on in the hearts of those he entertained and inspired.
Though he has left this world, Donald’s spirit lives on in the music he loved and in the hearts of those who knew him. His life serves as an inspiration to embrace one’s passions and cherish the connections we hold dear.
Rest in peace, Don — thank you for the music, the memories, and the connection you gave us all.
