Dear Joyce and Family - Sending you sympathy and support in losing Don -- as you know, also a long-time FHC/"Dr D" colleague and friend of mine. He was always there for strategy and dry humor for the many work challenges and opportunities along the way. I have only positive memories of his impact for me and his colleagues. Nancy Grden

My family send our condolence, prayers and love to you and your family. I have many memories of us setting by the beach, listen to his jazz and the bands when they would play. He Loved watching movies, history, wild life and game shows. He enjoyed going for a drive or going to walmart. Mr Don would light up while watching the trips that you all went on. His Family is what would light him up. Many times, we would just sit by the ocean, listen to his jazz, eat snacks, watch ships and dolphins go by, and watch sun go down. This winter, when it snowed, we would go out in the snow, make and threw snow balls. At times we would go out and watched the progress of the new building being built. We had so many good times, over the year an a few months, we have know each other. It was a pleasure being in both of your presence. His Love for Mrs Joyce was like two hearts etched together. His kids and grandchildren brought the light from the lighthouse that was dim in the distance to shining so bright when they arrived, his heart was over joyed. That beacon of Love will carry on in each of you. His love and appreciation of his friends showed each time you all came together. Thank you, for allowing me to care for Mr Don and being part of your family. He will truly be missed.

Dear Joyce~~ We just read Don’s obituary. What a beautiful recounting of his and your life shared. ♥️ Jack and I remembered the trips we made with you two~ Santa Fe, Williamsburg, coastal Massachusetts, and of course out west exploring the deserts and Zion. He remembered the many nights of playing euchre and dinners out. Of course he didn’t mention all the times the guys lost at cards☺️. We extend our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. What a void you must feel after such a lifelong loving marriage. We send our loving thoughts to you, Pat and Jack

I'm fortunate to have had Don as a friend for 50 years, starting when he was my supervisor at a psychiatric center. I was always impressed with his ready smile and wit. Don was in a long-term monthly poker group of colleagues, during which he demonstrated considerable skill. I'll always remember the times my wife and I met with Don and Joyce and listened to samplings of music, as well as other shared moments with them. Here's to a life well lived! Mike Nahl
