Edward L Fall “Baldy” went home to be with our Lord on December 12, 2018 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Joanne W. (R) David Ott (Nicholas, Madeline and Alexandra), John E Fall and Suzanne Fall (Davis, Sydney and Harrison) and David C. Fall and Marti Fall (Ryann and David). He is also survived by his sister Jean E. Haire and niece Jeanne Marie Eastwood.
Eddie was born in Richmond, Virginia on May 25, 1937 to the late Edward and Lillian Fall. He graduated from Benedictine Catholic High in 1955. He received his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Military Institute in 1959 and a Master of Commerce Degree from the University of Richmond in 1965.
In 1972 Edward and his family moved to Virginia Beach where he was President of American Industrial Corporation. He was a former member of the Cavalier Golf & Yacht club, the Signature at West Neck and a founding member of the Little Neck Swim & Racquet Club. He also coached youth basketball, baseball and football in the Little Neck community for many years. Eddie was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church for 46 years where he served on various stewardship ministries.
Eddie’s smile and cheerful disposition would light up a room and he enjoyed golfing, dancing and watching his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. God and family were always first for him. He will be remembered for his fond farewell “May you have a good day and a better tomorrow and may the peace of the Lord be with you”.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 22 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church at 11:30 AM with a reception to follow in the social hall. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Eddie’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Research Foundation.
The family would like to thank the physicians and staff at Sentara Norfolk General and Sentara Hospice House for their kind and compassionate care.
“Eddie was a good man”
