Edwin Henry Pingel, 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 3rd in Chesapeake, VA. Eddie was born April 22, 1948, in Lacrosse, WI. To parents William and Ernestine Pingel.
Eddie was a loving husband and father. He never met a stranger and knew everybody’s name. Eddie retired from Universal Forrest products in May of 2020 where he proudly worked for well over 15 years as a truck driver. After retirement Eddie started a community garden at the Reserves of Greenbriar community where he assisted other residents with their gardens. He was the President of the Reserves council board. Eddie loved working with wood and building things for others and the community. He was a true jack of all trades. In addition, he was a member of the of Aragona Woodstock Lions Club
Eddie was predeceased by his parents William and Ernestine Pingel. Siblings Albert, Marty, Maybelle, Ruby, and Tanner.
Eddie was survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years Linda Rae Pingel. Daughter: Kelly Rae Young and husband Duane, Son: Joel Tory Pingel and wife Jennifer. Grandchildren: Connor, Spencer Phillips, Kaiti, and Colton. Siblings: Gordy (Karleen), Bill (Roxie), Nellie, Ada (Paul). Countless In-laws along with dozens of nieces and nephews.

Eddie will be laid to rest November 22nd with a service at 3pm Promptly at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. Due to limited space at the facility; in lieu of flowers please send donations to American cancer society or your local animal shelter.
