Eileen Marie Hardy, born on February 24, 1948, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025 in Virginia Beach, VA, at the age of 77. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she moved to Virginia where she met the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Cecil Hardy in October of 1967. On January 10, 1968, they recited their vows in Virginia Beach, VA where they built a life filled with love, devotion and countless memories in their 54 years of marriage.
Eileen was a fierce and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles “Chuck” Cecil Hardy Sr. and son Charles “Chucky” Cecil Hardy Jr., whom she carried in her heart every day. She is survived by her children Laura Tushinski (Craig), Raymond Hard, Timothy Hardy (Jennifer), Christopher Hardy (Yesica), and Nichole Duslack (Kevin), as well as by her brother Richard Lillis, three granddaughters, five grandsons. She was also surrounded by numerous nieces, nephews, and an enormous circle of friends who quickly became family. She is also preceded in death by her best friend, Kathy Styron, with whom she shared a sister-like bond with for 31 short years. Through Kathy, Eileen gained two girls to help raise as her second children whom she is also survived by- Debra Gattano and Elizabeth Dovich.
Eileen took pride in the family that she and Chuck built together and always kept an open door for anyone in need. To show her love, food was consistently on the counters, along with each person’s favorite dessert that she handmade. Something she enjoyed most was sitting around the kitchen table with seats full of family and boisterous laughter while the kids could be seen playing the living room. She also enjoyed drinking a hot cup of coffee with a cigarette in hand, and eating the sweets she made for her family.
To those who knew her, Eileen’s love was fierce, opinions honest, and her presence unforgettable. Eileen Hardy will be missed tremendously and her legacy will be forever in our hearts. No formal service will be held, as she would have preferred you spend time with loved ones, around a large table full of laughter and love. Please offer your fondest condolences to the family on the Cremation Society of Virginia website.
