Alice worked many years in the medical administrative field, and she spent the last 22 years as a civil service employee at Portsmouth Naval Hospital and US Marine Corps Forces Command in Norfolk.
Alice is preceded in death by her mother, Nell Pankey, and father, Jack Burgess.
She is survived by brothers, Ronald Burgess (Linda) and Steve Burgess (Kimberly), step-sister, Cynde Sisson (John) and step-brother, Bob Knight (Janey). Alice also had many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Plaza Volunteer Rescue Squad, 3610 South Plaza Trail Va. Beach, VA 23452.
